Potty training and lightsabers!

It has worked so far. The lightsaber has seemed to do the trick with Ruben and getting him to poop in the potty. He seems to be potty trained after months and months of trying. I know there will may be accidents in the future, but I can deal with that. I only had to take the lightsaber away from him once. He lost it on Saturday for not pooping in the potty. Sunday he did go in the potty, so we gave it back to him. Since we bought the lightsaber on Thursday, he has not let it out of his sight. He even sleeps with it. I think it was a combination of finding something that he really wanted, the lightsaber, and him just being ready. I'm glad he is potty trained but I have to say it makes me a little sad. He is growing up so fast, too fast for me. He will be 4 in April, 4 years old! WOW, where has the time gone?

I just reread this post, I never thought I would be blogging about poop. Only parents will be able to understand that. :)

Marissa is still sick. We visited her pediatrician on Thursday, she seemed to be feeling better. The doctor said her ears looked a lot better. However, since Friday she has been running a fever between 102-103. She cries constantly and has been extremely clingy. She's not sleeping at night. Saturday night she slept in our bed for the first time since she was a week old and she probably will again tonight. She is also teething, getting her molars in, so that is not helping things. I will call the doctor sometime tomorrow but I am pretty sure he will just tell me to continue the meds and keep watching her.

Ruben's buddies Josh and Jake are coming over tomorrow for a play date. Marissa has hidden the batteries to my camera. Hopefully I can find them and get some pictures of the boys and the magical lightsaber. :)

Maybe I should give the boys their train set and threaten to take it away if they don't poop in the potty. I keep promising the train if they do poop all the time and quit having to use diapers. at the rate we are going with that the train is going to be an out of date relic before they ever get the darn thing! If I could freeze them somehow and train one at a time I think I'd have better luck but I don't see that happening!! LOL! Congrats on all the progres with Roo. The way we are going Marissa will be trained before the boys! I keep waiting thinking one day it will just click... so far I'm waiting...and waiting...and waiting!!!!!
