Marla and the boys came over last Friday, little late in posting I know. The kids had a blast as usual and I loved spending time with Marla. It was so nice just to sit and talk to a friend since I have not been able to get out of the house in quite a while.
Marla brought Marissa a bag or two or three of Winnie the Pooh things for her room and she loves them. I think she scored, one big tigger, a big Eeyore, a small Eeyore, a couple of small pooh bears and a ton of other things. Thanks Marla she loves them. And Roo got a Star Wars board game and a star wars t-shirt for his birthday.
Marla also gave me a beautiful scrap photo book she made of our Christmas cookie making extravagaza with the kids last christmas. She is so talented and I'm so lucky to have her as my friend and partner in figuring out how to raise rambuctious 5 year old boys.
I'm hoping they can come again soon, it certainly is the best kind of medicine for me right now.

Quick Visit with My Friend Jen
Jennifer and I met on an online moms forum when Ruben was a baby. We live 5 hours from each other and first met about 2 years ago. This was our second meeting and my first time meeting her adorable, sweet, perfect new baby Carter, well he's not brand new but to me he is.
She has two other little guys Jared and Alex. I can't believe how fast they are growing. I can't wait until we can get together again and hopefully it will be sooner and for longer this time.
Jen is awesome and I don't know how I would have made it without her these last few years, we have spent many many hours on the phone as our children have went from newborns to toddlers to starting school.
They were traveling to see her grandmother and stop here so we could have a quick visit.

I could have held Carter all day, good thing they don't live close because I probably would :)
Even Jose had to get his hands on this adorable little guy.
I love this one, Jared was probably thinking, "what the heck happened to Ruben's hair?"

Three 4 Year Olds, a 2 Year Old & Lots of Sugar
Josh and Jake came over today. We made brownies, ate hot dogs buns, and decorated giant ginger bread and snowman cookies.

Marissa ate way more candy than she put on her ginger bread man.

Jake got a little crazy with the pink.

Mr. GQ (Josh) and his prized snowman.

Roo inspecting his work.

The boys were using their buns for telephones. Goofy little fellows.

And the most important thing is... Marla and I made it out alive and we didn't even have to break out the bottle. :)
It's awesome to have a friend who just gets it, it being what real motherhood is like and someone who knows sometimes you just do what works.
Thanks Marla for being such a great friend. I'm so glad you gavea complete stranger me your number in the mall when the boys were a year old. :)
